ITALY’S COAL TRADE
DETAILS OF RESTRICTIONS. CONFERENCE IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, March 5. Answering a question in Parliament the President of the Board of Trade, Mr. Walter Runciman, said the present position as regards coal imports into Italy was that licenses would be issued to importers up to the amount of 35 percent. of their imports in the corresponding period last year but coal destined for State railways was admitted without restriction. Coal which had left port for Italy by February 19 would be admitted without restriction.
He said he was receiving a deputation from the coal industry to-morrow to discuss the situation.
