FINE WEATHER AT FIRST

SCATTERED SHOWERS LATER.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be mainly fine at first except for some rain in the northeast and the extreme south. Later there will be scattered rains in most districts, except western portions of the South Island. Temperatures are becoming cooler. Winds will be rather variable, especially in the south, but south to south-east will predominate. Later they will freshen. Seas in New Zealand waters will be rough on parts of the east coast of the North Island. Later they will be rising generally south of East Cape and about Cook Strait. Otherwise they will be smooth to moderate. In the eastern Tasman Sea there will be moderate to fresh south to south-east winds and moderate to rather rough seas. A rather deep depression is moving southwards parallel to the east coast. At the same time a very slight depression is approaching from the west.
