NEW ZEALAND’S YOUTH. IMPRESSIONS OF A VISITOR. “The display op Ngamotu beach yesterday afternoon was foe finest I have yet seen” said Mr, J. F, Fishenden, vicepresident of foe Royal Life-Saving Society, Londop, to a Daily News reporter last night. “I have seen similar competitions in many States of Australia and' on the beaches of South Africa, but I consider that foe showing at New Plymouth was foe bert.” Mr. Fishenden, who has been visiting New Zealand during the part few weeks on foe business of foe Royal Life-Saving Society, expressed himself as particularly impressed by the. splendid physique of foe New Zealand surfers, He said they were much superior fa development to the youth of the British Isles. This also applied to women whom he had seen on foe beaches. “I am convinced that physically at all events New Zealand has a splendid rising generation and foat swimming is playing a big part in this development,” added foe visitor.
