CHANGES PROPOSED
DAIRY INDUSTRY IN AUSTRALIA. SCHEME FOR REORGANISATION. Sydney, February 19. Proposals for the reorganisation of the dairy industry, says the Sun, will be placed before the Australian Agricultural Council next month if arrangements can be completed to call that body together before Parliament meets. The two main suggestions will be submitted by Dr. Earle Page, Minister of Commerce. One is the amalgamation of the existing dairying industry organisations into one central body and the other is the imposition of an excise duty or production tax on margarine .in order to encourage the local consumption of butter.
