ILLEGAL TOBACCO
MANUFACTURE WITHOUT LICENSE. CONVICTION IN NELSON COURT. By Telegraph—Press Association. - Nelson, Feb. 22. Efnbld Edward Pannell was fined £3O in the Magistrate’s Court on a charge of manufacturing tobacco without a licerisfe. The proceedings were a sequel to a raid on a house in a gully near Wahgamba Hill, where the defendant had a plant. The Customs officer stated that illegal trading in tobacco with the evasion, of duties was fairly prevalent in the district
