ANGELA’S TOYS.

- (Sent by Kathleen Copeman). ■ “I wonder where , all my toys go to,” cried Angela. “Why," what’s the matter” asked Nat the farmer’s son. She was to make a big mud pie, put a toy on top and go away. She did this, and when she and Nat came back to look at the mud pie the toy was gone, and in the mud were light footprints of a bird. “I thought sd!” said Nat, “Come with me.” He took her to a house up the lane where there was a jackdaw. They asked if they might see the jackdaw's nest, and there .they found all the toys. “Why did he take them?” asked / -ela. “Ho likes the colours,” ’Nat replied. Angela was glad to get back the toys, and the jackdaw was so ashamed that he never went near Angela's things again. / *'
