CARNATIONS. Carnations that were layered early in January are rooting freely. They are better not to be taken off until the end of this month or early in next. Now is the time to take cuttings or pipings of the pink. Remove some of the lower leaves and insert them in pots or shallow boxes with a liberal amount of Sana on top of good fibrous loam.
