S.O.S. CALL PICKED UP
GOVERNMENT SHIP MAUI POMARE. SETH PARKER IN DIFFICULTIES. _ By Telegraph—Press Association. ’ Wellington, Last Night The American schooner Seth Parket’i SOS last week was picked up by the Government motor-ship 'Maui Pomare, which arrived at Wellington to-day from the Islands via Lyttelton. The Maui • Pomare was then off Niue Island, the Seth Parker being 800 miles aWay. The master of the motor-ehip, learning that H.M.A.S. Australia had picked up the signals,* decided it was Useless to head for the schooner, when the warship was already dashing to the rescue.
