Mr. H. E. Blyde, Leppertoh, will leave for the Waikato this morning. The death of Rear-Admiral Sir Francis Haworth-Booth is reported in a London cable. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. West, New Plymouth, left New Plymouth for Wellington yesterday to join the Rotorua, sailing for England to-day. They will be absent from New Zealand for 12 months, during which time they will tour the Continent and South America. Advice has been received by the Minister for the Cook Islands (the. Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) of the death of Mr. Cecil J. Bouchier, Director of Agriculture at Rarotonga, says a Wellington Press Association message. Mr. Bouchier’s leg was broken by a large wave during the recent severe storm, and amputation became necessary below the knee. Complications then set in. Mr. Forbes paid a tribute to Mr. Bouchier’s efficiency and general ability, and said it would be difficult to replace him.
