COLLAPSE IN PEPPER

LIQUIDATION OF COMPANY. HOPE OF RECONSTRUCTION. By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright. Rec. 5 p.m. London, Feb. 21. Lord Darnby, following a private meeting of creditors of .Francis Willey and. Co., which passed a resolution for voluntary liquidation after the pepper collapse, said this was only a unit of what was known as the Willey Group. It was not anticipated that certain substantial businesses of the group would be adversely affected. It is understood that by arrangement with the financial creditors concerned the creditors for goods and services will be fully paid. There is no alternative to this. In view of the non-renewal of agreements with certain standstill creditors, this action was the only way of protecting the interests of all concerned in the hope that it may lead to a basis of some reconstruction. ■ “ #
