Katharine Hepburn wins new laurels as one of the screen’s finest actresses by her portrayal in “Morning Glory," a drama of theatrical life, which will conclude its Hawera season at the Opera House to-night. With Douglas Fairbanks junr. and Adolphe Menjou assisting, the dynamic young actress carries a splendid picture along to a happy ending. The box plans are already well filled for “Blossom Time,” which will begin a season of four nights and three matinees to-morrow night. The picture is unquestionably one of the greatest to have been shown in New Zealand for some time and has drawn record houses wherever shown. Based on the life of Franz Schubert, one of the world’s greatest composers, the story is charming from beginning to end, and the picture is immortalised by the inclusion of five of Schubert’s most magnificent melodies. Sung by Richard Tauber, the famous tenor, the songs take on new meaning. The other players are all first-class, and the scenery and photography magnificent. The picture is rare in that it contains music of the highest order and a story of singular charm.
