RELIEF MEN'S RIGHTS
DEPUTATIONS TO EMPLOYERS. QUESTION ASKED IN HOUSE. By Telegraph—Press Association. • Wellington, . Feb. 15. . In the House of Representatives today Mr. E. J. Howard (Labour, Christchurch South) asked the Minister of Employment, the Hon. J. A. Young,’ if he would make a statement giving the attitude of the Unemployment Board in the matter of the recognition of representatives of the men duly appointed to make representations when necessary to the employing authority regarding job conditions or any disputes. Mr. Young in reply said that the men working under Scheme No. 5 were employed by the local bodies, who no doubt adopted the usual practice regarding representatives of the men. The board had no authority over local bodies regarding such matters.
