EVENING SPORTS PROGRAMME. LARGE ATTENDANCE AT MEETING. There was a large attendance art the weekly sports meeting of the Stratford Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club at Victoria Park last night, in spite of the fact that the meeting was held two nights earlier than usual. Entries- were good, and some fine performances were seen. An interesting feature was the first hurdles event to be held by the club, a fairly full set of hurdles now having been acquired. A surprise came in the mile run, when Thompson, Pukengahu, an untrained runner, romped home from the limit mark in easy style.
