OAONUI HALL FUNDS
A successful euchre party and dance was held in the Oaonui Hall on Wednesday, the proceeds-being for the hall funds. Mr. Colin Bishop was master of ceremonies. Music was played by Mrs. C. Malcolm, with extras by Mrs. Webster and Mr. L. A- Bosworth. There was a large attendance, 35 tables being engaged for euchre. Dancing took place in the supper room, which had been specially prepared. Euchre prizes were won as follow:—Women: Mrs. Ehi I, Miss Pat Murray 2, Mrs. Gordon, Opunake, 3, Mrs. M. Tioko 4, Mrs. Edwards 5. Men: Messrs. M. Tioko 1, A. J. Fevre 2, J. Martin 3, E. Pickering 4, J. Ratahi 5. Mr. T. Okeroa entertained with songs. A competition was won by Mrs. J. J. Dalton, Rahotu (box of chocolates). Supper was served by the committee. Personal Items. Mrs. Hartley, Inglewood, and Mrs. Norcross are the guests of Mrs. T. Gardner, snr. Mr. M. r J. Armstrong, jun., who was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Bosworth, has returned to New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. West, Urenui, who had been visiting M r . and Mrs. J. Linley, have left for Wellington en route for England.
