FOLLOWS HIS WIFE
SUICIDE OF SYDNEY RESIDENT. WIFE’S ACCIDENTAL DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.10 p.m. Sydney, Feb. 18. An estate valued at £30,000 has been left by Victor Clement Black, aged 44, a well-known city manufacturer, who was recently found gassed in'his office. On the door of the room in which he committed suicide he left a note warning people of the danger of the gas. At the inquest Black’s brother gave evidence that deceased’s wife died in December as the result of an overdose of a sleeping draught. Her death was a great shock to her husband. The coroner, returning a verdict of suicide, said it would appear that Black’s action was caused by ill-health and his nervous state following the death of his wife.
