OHURA DISTRICT NEWS
GENERAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS. Mr. and Mrs. Craven and Miss Inez Craven, Ohura, motored to Tongaporutu, where they intend spending a holiday' camping on the beach. Mr. and Mrs. McCrae are the guests' of Mrs. W. Howie. Mrs. Symonds, Auckland, has returned home after spending a holiday with her daughter, Mrs. J. Seerup. Mrs. E. Toch, Melbourne, is spending a holiday at Ohura and. is the guest of Mrs. Koorey, senr.
Mr. and Mrs. Hayes, North Auckland, visited Ohura this week and were the guests of Mrs. S. A. Watts. The Ohura branch of Rebekah Lodge held a fortnightly euchre evening last Tuesday. There was a good attendance. Miss Alice Borthwick was the winner of the women’s first prize and Miss Edna Woods of the consolation, while Mr. Jack Gill won the ipen’s first prize and Mr. Hefferman the consolation.
A meeting of St. Andrew’s vestry was held on Thursday night. The Rev. Walters was in the chair. Parish business was discussed. It was decided to hold fortnightly euchre parties -■ and dances in aid of church funds. •' The following were added to the vestry; Mesdames Hedley, Loft, Rae, Allen mad. Jenner.
