MAHOENUI NOTES
A KITCHEN AFTERNOON. The Mahoenui hall presented a gay scene - last Saturday • when Mrs. T. A. Summers gave a kitchen afternoon to Miss Jean Rattenbury, who is to be married. Two long tables were decorated witt African marigolds, cannas and hydrangeas. The hostess wore a frock of biscuit shade crepe suede relieved with blue and Miss Jean Rattenbury wore an afternoon frock of green checked jnOrocain. After the presents had been opened Mr. G. Tubman expressed thanks for Miss Rattenbury. Afternoon tea was served. Among the guests were Mesdfimes W. Avery, J. Old, E. Moore, L., R. Jones (Awakino), H. Gray (Awakino), G. Calvert (Awakino), N- Gribbon, A. I. Morton, J. Jones, A. Moir, A. 11. Rattenbury, J. Davidson, L. Purdie, A. Old, F. Armstrong, P. Hansen, L. Ridling, R. Alome, L. Moir, J. Cooke, H. ; Carter, W. Gellatty, S. Roberts, H. Moore, R. Rattenbury, R. Old, Misses M. Gribbon, O. Abraham, M. Roberts, M. Rattenbury, i M. Moir, T. Scott, A. Davidson, B. Moir and P. Roberts. In the evening a dance was held, there being a fair attendance. Mr; W. Rattenbury was master of ceremonies. Novelty dances were won by Mr. Herbie Low and partner, Mr. W. Rattenbury and partner and Mr. Derek Rattenbury and partner. KAPUNI DANCE SUCCESS. A huge gathering attended the Kapuni hall on Wednesday evening when the
i young people’s social Club held its Opening dance in aid of the cricket club. I Music was played by Wills’ orchestra, with extras given by Messrs. B. Eliason and Eric r.ustin. A Monte Carlo, waltz was won by Mr. Jack Hussey and Miss V. Hughes. A dainty supper was served by members of the committee. Among those present were Mesdames W.
