Mrs. Parker is visiting Auckland. Miss M. Farquhar has returned from Napier. Mrs. S. Robinson has returned to Kalkohe after a visit to her mother, Mrs. Neilson. Mrs. McGrath, who has been the guest of Mrs. G. H. P. Fitzgerald, leaves today for Wellington. Mrs. 0. Hawken, Waverley, was the guest of Mrs. G. Cooper during the week, Miss J. Welch has returned, after spending the summer vacation with her parents at Wellington. Mrs. J. L. Weir has returned from Pukearuh?. Miss S. Carncross has returned from a visit to papakura and Rotorua. Mrs. A. W. Packard and family have returned from a motor tour of the North Island. Mrs. F. Ham was hostess at tea- on Tuesday afternoon. Those present were Mesdames McGarry, R. Parting, A. W. Packard, A. J. McPherson, C. Carncross, Weir, Mrs. Sim, Morrison and P. de Launay. A golf croquet competition was won by Mrs. M. McGarry. Mrs. A. A. Stewart has returned from a visit to Russell. Miss Beechey, Papakura, is the guest of Lady Carncross. Mrs.' J. L. Weir was hostess at tea on Thursday afternoon. Those present were Lady Camcross, Mesdames Weir, A. Tiplady, McGrath, G. H. P. Fitzgerald, G, Cooper and Miss S. Carncross. Mrs. C. Gibson was hostess at an afternoon in honour of Mrs. Robertson, Waipawa, on Tuesday. Among those present were Mesdames Robertson, Murray, A. Best, C. C. Stanners, G. Turner, Hardwicke Smith, Morrison (Opunake), Misses A. Wilson, M. Madden and S. Carncross. A competition was won by Mrs. Robertson.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Fake, Eltham, entertained a number of people last Wednesday night in honour of the coming-of-age of their daughter, Noreen. Mr. G. Peebles propose I the toast of the guest of the evening, Miss Fake responding. Mr. Fake presented his daughter with a gold key. Amongst those present were guests from Hawera and Stratford.
