Mias Fhyjlis Lyall, a member of the nursing Staff of the New Plymouth hospital, has returned from $ holiday at Cambridge.

Miss Christine Aitken has arrived from Auckland to be the guest of Mrs. W. Brodie for a short holiday. Mrs. W. B. Rowan, Waipukurau, was guest of honour on Thursday when Mrs. J, S, Medley entertained at bridge. Mrs, W. N. Stephenson entertained at a bridge party last night in honour of Mrs. J. N. Stephenson, Nelson. Mrs. D’Ath and Miss D’Ath, Lower Hutt, were visitors to New Plymouth during the week. They were the guests of Mrs. G. F. RichMiss M. Hamerton returned to New Plymouth on Wednesday after being the guest of Miss E. Brown, Inglewood, for a few days.

Mrs. Beatson Blundell was hostess at a bridge party at her home at Tataraimaka on Thursday evening. Mrs. Hugh Fraser, Auckland, who has been visiting New Plymouth, will leave to-day to spend a few days at North Egmont.

Miss Warren, Palmerston North, is spending a holiday at New Plymouth. She is the guest of her sister, Mrs. H. C. Baker.

Mrs. Eric Shaw, who has been spending several weeks at Tauranga and Rotorua, is expected to return by car during the week-end.

Mrs. H. Calder, Auckland, who has been spending a holiday at Waitara, arrived at New Plymouth on Thursday to be the guest of her sister, Mrs. Eliot King, for a few days.
