SHORT CIVIL LIST
COURT AT NEW PLYMOUTH. FIRST SITTING OF NEW YEAR. The first civil sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at New Plymouth since the beginning of the year was held yesterday. Judgment by default was given by Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., on the following claims: — Smart Bros Ltd v. W. E. Hawke, £1 10s 6d (14s); Besleys Ltd v. H. L. Slight, £3 (£1 17s 6d); W. T. Hookham v. D. D. Prior, £3 16s 6d (£1 6s 6d); Bellringer Bros Ltd v. G. V. Simpson, £2 0s 5d (£1 6s 6d); Dominion Motors Ltd v. J. A. Johnson, 7s 6d (14s). On a judgment summons claim R. C. Stanton was ordered to pay Masters (Wholesale) Ltd £4 5s 6d forthwith, in default four days’ imprisonment.
