CAR THROWN ON HOOD
COLLISION AT NEW PLYMOUTH. PASSENGERS ESCAPE INJURY. Though one car was thrown over on its hood as the result of a collision at the corner of Gover and Courtenay streets, New Plymouth, on Saturday afternoon none of the motorists was injured. The two drivers were Mr. Charles P. Millman, New Plymouth, and Mr. Douglas John Pepper, New Plymouth, and each was accompanied by one passenger. Mr. Millman was driving a five-seater sedan car down Gover Street towards the sea about 2.45 p.m. As he crossed Courtenay Street the car collided with a car proceeding towards Fitzroy. Mr. Millman’s vehicle slewed round and turned over, coming to rest upside-down in the middle of the road. Mr. Millman and his passenger crawled out through the window and appeared unhurt. The car had the front windscreen and one wheel smashed, and the hood and the mudguard damaged. Mr. Pepper’s car was hardly damaged.
