CONCERT AT AWAKINO

FUNDS FOR BOWLING CLUB-, The Awakino hall was crowded on Wednesday evening when a concert and dance was held for the funds of the Awakino Bowling Club. Mr. S. Whitehead presided. The following items were given: Pianoforte duet, Mrs. Beatty and Miss B. Sampson; songs, Mrs. F. Widt; song. Mr. D. Rikihana; recitations, Mr. H. Martin; songs, Mrs. Philpott (Wellington); vocal duet, Mr. and Mrs. W.- B Martin; song, Mrs. Scott; songs, ■ Mr. Bailey Martin (Wanganui); pianoforte solo, Mr. H. Philpott (Wellington); club swinging, Mrs. Vesey. Mr. S. Whitehead thanked the performers and the women’s committee that helped with the supper. Music for daneing was played by Mrs. J.
