hawera beats old boys again TWO FOUR-POINT WINS IN NORTH KAPONGA SECURES LEAP IN SOUTH PRICKET in the'South Taranaki senior competition took an in- ° teresting turn again on Saturday, when Hawera beat Hawere Old Boys to the second time this season. As a result Kaponga, which beat Power Board, resumes the lead in the competition. Stratford beat Patea easily. Bowlers were helpe wmewhat by a strong south-westerly breeze, which tempered the heat of a blazing sun that had made the outfield very fast. The superiority established on the fifst. day by ew mouth Old Boys and New Plymouth ° ver ' High School respectively was driven home on Satin day. both ending Xly in the second day’s play. P ymouth won by ten wickets and Old Boys by an innings and 34 mns. Old Boys’ win takes the team to the lead definitely. . The feature of the lower grade cricket in the province, was a sptoiid centoy against New Plymouth High School junior by R. Gilmore, Waitara.
