CAR GOES OVER BANK
ACCIDENT NEAR THAMES. NEW PLYMOUTH PAIR’S INJURIES. Painful but not serious injuries were suffered by two residents of New Plymouth, Miss Irene Larkin, Devon Street, and Mr. Frank Tett, a master at the New Plymouth Boys’ High School, when a car driven by Mr. Tett went over a bank near Thames last Sunday. Both were admitted to the Thames hospital, Miss Larkin with injuries to the teeth and chin and Mr. Tett with cuts on the arm.
Miss Larkin was on a holiday trip, and the accident occurred when the car was en route from Thames to Mount Maunganui. The injuries were not severe, but necessitated both being taken to hospital for treatment. News of the occurrence was received at New Plymouth on Thursday, and inquiries made yesterday revealed that both patients were progressing satisfactorily and would be out of hospital within a week.
