HAND AMPUTATED
CAUGHT IN MACHINE BELTING. MISFORTUNE OF SCHOOLBOY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, Last Night Michael Alpe, a Martinborough High School boy aged 14, had his left hand amputated at the Greytown hospital today as the result of an accident at his father’s farm at Tawaha this morning. Tire boy was assisting his father in the milking shed when his hand was caught in the belt of the milking machine and very badly injured.
