WOMEN’S DIVISION

Inglewood Junior Stanch: The Inglewood junior branch of the womens Division held its last meeting for 1934 on Saturday, when Miss Mildred Fabish presided over an attendance of 17 members and two visitors. The meeting decided to send the small donation requested towards the combined women s organisations presentation to Her Excellency Lady Bledisloe,. On a, vote the girls were unanimous in wishing to hold a meeting in January. An invitation was accepted from the Women’s Division to join in the second annual picnic to be held at Mr. Bennet’s farm. A competition, “Hidden Towns,” caused much fun and was won by Cecelia Fabish and Nellie Bracegirdle. Games were Played, making an enjoyable afternoon. The hostesses were Misses Vivienne Haine and Mildred Fabish, who served afternoon tea. ~ x ■»< Pembroke Road: The president, Mrs. Belcher, presided over an attendance of 22 at a recent meeting. Mesdames Cocker (provincial president, Central Taranaki) and Youn. (provincial secretary) were visitors. There were also visitors from ritham and Stratford branches. It was finally decided that the birthday party arranged for February 12 should be held at the hall. All competitions for the year were closed, the winners being: Wool quilt, Mrs. Scott; handkerchief made from salt bag, Mrs. Tomlyn 1, Mrs. McNeil 2; Christmas cake, Mrs. Faulkner; highest points in competitions for the year, Mrs. McNeil, ■yhe trophy given by Mrs. G. W. Kemsley was presented by Mrs. Cocker. Mrs. Cocker also addressed the meeting. Mrs. Hunt exhibited a collection of wooden flowers and Mrs. E. J. Hunt sang. The roll call was “my pet economy.”
