“BRITISH FEARS ABSURD”

AIR MENACE OF GERMANY HAS ONLY TRIAL PLANES WISH TO REMAIN FRIENDS PEACEABLE SETTLEMENT By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Berlin, Dec. 20. "British fears of the German air menace are absurd,” said General Goering, Minister of Air, in a special interview. "Germany possesses only some trial machines and talk of hundreds of military planes is ridiculous, while the passenger planes are not convertible for war,” he said. “Germans ardently wish that England and Germany should remain firm friends on the basis of equality,” he continued. “I see no international problems in 1935 which cannot be settled peacefully.” General Goering added that the Storm Troopers were loyal to the Government and there was no possibility of a repetition of the June revolt. He denied that he and Dr. Paul Goebbels, Minister of Propaganda, were at daggers drawn. The German Cabinet was the most united in Europe, and Germany’s economic position was improving.
