In a Hawke Cup elimination cricket match to-day Manawatu made 189 in the first innings (Murchison 15, Ongley 24, Penman 34, Norris 81). Montgomery took five wickets for 65 runs. At the drawing of stumps Waira/apa had six wickets down, for 171 (Perry 35, Massey not out 65, Fortune 16, Donaldson not out 12. The match will be continued to-mor-row.
