CELEBRATIONS AT MELBOURNE. PRELATES OF MANY NATIONS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.25 p.m. Melbourne, Nov. 30. Prelates of many nations are assembled at Melbourne for the opening of the Eucharistic Congress at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, when Cardinal Macrory, Papal Legate, will celebrate Pontifical High Mass in the presence of more than 50 archbishops and bishops. The service promises to be the most spectacular ever held at Melbourne. Arrangements are being made for a congregation of about 25,000. The normal seating capacity of the cathedral is about 3000, but extra accommodation has been provided and about 20,000 ivill be able to hear the service in the cathedral grounds, where amplifiers have been installed. Many events of the congress have been arranged for next week, including the central feature of the congress, the eucharistic procession, on Sunday.
