A farmer on the Wanganui coast informed a reporter that he .has been experimenting with pampas grass during the past few years, and is now convinced that apart from being a valuable feed for cattle during the winter, if properly planted out it can be used to smother gorse and perhaps even blackberry and ragwort. It will grow, ,he says, on any reasonable class of country, and m the winter stock take ,to it readily, and will even break through fences and abandon other feed to get to it. In the spring when the undergrowth is burnt off it will grow again. The farmer is preparing to plant an area of 20 acres, as he is thoroughly convinced of its value. ONE PENNY BUYS HEALTH!
