BULLOCK VALUES IMPROVE. FAT SHEEP TOWARDS END. Hastings, Nov. 28. With an entry of 183 head of fat cattle, a keen demand was experienced at today’s sale at Stortford Lodge. Values improved about 5s to 10s a head on bullocks, wlule cow and heifer beef rates were improved in the early stages of the sale, but eased again later. The store cattle entry was small, approximately 100 head being offered, prices realised loeing down on last week. Fat sheep sold at improved prices at the start for fat ewes, but eased later, while wethers made late rates, and lambs were very quiet. The store sheep comprised chiefly wethers which sold at improved rates. Ewes, lambs and hoggets were unchanged.

£8 to £9 ss; others, from £5 17s 6d; cows, medium to prime, £4 18s to £5 19s; others, from £3 2s 6d; heifers, medium to prime, £5 10s to £6 14s; others, from £4 2s. Store cattle: Steers and bullocks, to £5 10s; heifers, to £3 10s. Fat sheep: Ewes, medium to prime, 15s 6d to 17s lOd; others, from 12s; wethers, to 19s 3d; lambs, to 22s 6d. Store sheep: Wethers, to 19s 3d; ewes and lambs, to 17s 6d all counted; wether hoggets, to 19s 8d; two-tooth ewes, to 21s.
