Federation's cold shouldering of Tilden says: “The ruling bodies refuse to accept the logical result of the policy of playing throughout the year,. which inevitably would mean, professionalism. The Belgian attitude straight away brings the matter to a head compared with the English Lawn Tennis Association’s method of merely implying disapproval by asking umpires not to co-operate with professionals.”
