GENERAL AND PERSONAL NEWS. Miss Ivy MacClure is visiting New Plymouth, where she is the guest of Mrs. Duncan Mackay. Mrs. W. Mackay has relumed to her home at Ohura after spending several weeks in western Taranaki as the guest of her daughter, Mrs. L. Abbott. The Ohura Croquet and cricket clubs held their weekly euchre and five hundred evening last week. A good number attended. The winners were Mrs. Allen and Mr. O. Currie. Mrs. J. MacClure is spending a holiday at Aria. Miss Margaret Mackay, who has been spending several weeks at Ohura as the guest of Miss I. MacClure, has returned to her home at New Plymouth. The weekly committee meeting of the Ohura Cricket Club was held on Tuesday. Arrangements were completed for a competition match against Matiere at the week-end. Mr. J. Cox resigned as selector and was replaced by Mr. R._ G. Milne. There will be a cricket festival at Ohura at Christmas, when a touring team from Auckland will meet the valley representatives on the Ohura domain.
