CHRISTMAS NUMBER
SHORT STORY COMPETITION. ENTRIES CLOSE TO-MORROW. The Taranaki Daily News again invites entries for the annual short story competition in connection with the Christmas Number. Stories, which must not previously have appeared in print, should be not more than 3000 words in length, or about three columns of the Daily News. " Prizes are offered as follows:— First Prize £9 3 0 Second Prize .............. £2 2 0 In addition, £1 1/- will be paid for each short story that is published apart from the prizewinning contributions. Entries close at midnight on Friday, November 30. Entries must be either delivered or in the post by that time if they are to receive consideration. The decision of the Editor in all competitions shall be final. MSS should, if possible, be typewritten -and entries should be forwarded to the Editor, Taranaki Daily News, Box 119, New Plymouth. The package should be flat and clearly marked “Christmas Competition.” The last folio of MSS should bear the name and address of the competitor. Stamps must be enclosed if the competitor desires the return of MSS.
