Sir John Staton, Foreign Secretary, stated that thfe British Ambassador at Tokio, Sir Robert Clive, had been instructed to corrlfnuhicatfe to the Japanese Government the obsfervat'tons which the Japanefife reply to thfe British representations regarding the Manchukuo oil monopoly appeared to require. The whole question still engaged the Cfose attention of the British Government. Asked if the Government was co-oper-ating with the United States and other, countries interested in the matter, Sir John said all proper Contact Was being kept.
