MANUFACTURERS OFFER TO HELP.

At the recent oonference of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation a discussion took place on the best means of finding places in industry for ■ disabled soldiers. The organiser of the Soldiers’ Civil Re-establishment League is to be invited to address manufacturers in each of the four centres, and to advise them regal-ding the men whom it is desired to place, manufacturers on their side undertaking to consider carefully what positions in their factories could be filled by men suffering from various types of disablement. Mr. A. E. Mander, secretary of the Manufacturers’ Federation, states that the Council of the Soldiers’ Re-establishment League had now accepted the manufacturers’ offer, and arrangements, for cooperation between the two bodied were to be considered immediately. Manufacturers generally, he added, appeared to be surprised and seriously disturbed on learning that there were still so many disabled soldiers not settled in suitable pogts; and there seemed fo be little doubt that manufacturing industries could help materially to deal with the problem now that it had been brought to their attention-
