Despite oppressive heat 5000 girls participated in an impressive physical culture display at the Melbourne cricket ground. • ■ ', ' Some delay was caused by the overtaxing of the dressing accommodation, 500 girls having to dress in the parklands surrounding the grounds, leaving the police to guard their clothes while they went into the arena.
The tableaux included the formation of a human boomerang and an immense cooee.
