Mr. Paul Harris, president emeritus and founder of Rotary, expects to arrive in New Zealand on Monday, April 15, by the Maunganui and to leave again by the Niagara on April 30. An itinerary is being arranged by New Zealand Rotary to enable him to meet as many clubs as possible during his short stay in the Dominion.

Mr. C. D. Collins, late of New Plymouth, who has been second officer at the Masterton branch of the Commercial Bank of Australia for the past four and a half years, has received notice of his transfer to the bank’s relieving staff. During his stay in Masterton Mr. Collins has taken up an active part in various sports bodies, having been secretary of the Solway Golf Club since its inception four years ago, and also secretary of the Nomads Badminton Club for the past four years. Mr. Collins is to leave Masterton this week, and his place will be taken by Mr. G. Steel, of Wanganui.

The death has occurred of Sir Arthur Wing Pinero, the dramatist, after an operation, says a London cable. Sir Arthur Pinero was one of the best known of British dramatists and was in the first flight. He was born in 1855, the son of a solicitor. When 19 he became an actor and was on the stage seven years. From then onwards he. devoted his attention to writing. .His numerous plays, which began with The Magistrate,” includes such well-known works as “The Second Mrs. Tanqueray and “The Gay Lord Quex.”
