WEATHER FAIR AT FIRST
UNSETTLED CONDITIONS LATER.

Wellington, Last Night.
The weather is expected to be fair to fine at first generally, states the 4 p.m. forecast, but it may become unsettled soon in western districts from Taranaki southwards and in the far so.uth, with rain developing. Conditions will be warm. An anti-cyclone is moving gradually eastwards off the Dominion and a depression is approaching from the Tasman Sea. Moderate to strong northerly *£to north-westerly winds are expected, reaching gale force in places about and south of Cook Strait. Seas will be rough in Cook and Foveaux Straits and rising south of Cape Egmont, but moderate elsewhere.
