FEILDING SALE PRICES.

STORE CATTLE IN DEMAND.

Feilding, Nov. 23.

There was a heavy yarding of station cattle for the weekly stock sale, over 1000 head being forward of fairly good quality generally. The sale proved the best for vendors for some, time; Buyers were present from Wanganui, Wairarapa, Hawke’s Bay and Main Trunk districts. and the market for all classes of male cattle was one of the best so far this year. Female lines, though prices were quite fair, were hardly up to late rates. A keen demand existed for yearlings, both steers and heifers, the market showing a considerable appreciation. Wairarapa buyers took all lines suitable for the chilled beef trade. Other sections of the sale showed no alteration on previous rates. In the fat cattle market no ox beef was offered, and best heifer beef, P.A., made. 20s per 1001 b. Cattle made late rates at Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd.’s Cartelton sale to-day. There were only a few sheep offered, but these made par values. Pigs were in strong demand, realising very good prices. Sheep: Shorn maiden ewes, to 21s; woolly hoggets, 17s 6d to 22s 6d. Cattle: Springing heifers, to £3; heifers, just calved, to £2 7s 6d; yearling Jersey heifers, 37s 6d to £2; yearling Jersey heifers, small, 23s to 255; yearling Holstein to 37s 6d; fat cows, £2 15s to £3 4s; forward cows, 35s to £2 10s; store .cows, 21s to 265; fat heifers, £2 17s to £3.
