By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 6.30 p.m. Sydney, Nov. 25. The first Sheffield Shield inter-State cricket match was continued in ideal weather between South Australia and New South Wales. New South Wales in the first innings made 479. Brown made wickets. Brown made 111, Fingleton 111, Fingleton 134, Oldfield 88, Simmons 41 and McGilvray 35. Grimmett took four wickets for 24 runs.
Notable absentees from the New South Wales team are McCabe, Kippax and O’Reilly. South Australia made 154 in the first innings, Nitschke 63. Chilvers took six wickets for 67. South Australia followed on and lost one wicket for 66 runs. V. Richardson made 33 not out.
