LAKE BOATS COLLIDE
FOUR OF STEAMER’S CREW LOST.
ONE OF THE VESSELS SINKS.

A message from Alpena (Michigan) says that four members of the crew of. the steamer W. C. Franz were lost early' to-day in a collision in a fog between the. W. C. Franz and the Edward E. Loomis on Lake Huron.
Tire W. C. Franz sank. Fourteen survivors were rescued by the Edward E. Loomis, which was badly damaged for-' ward but was able to proceed under its own power.
