MODERATE SOUTHERLY WINDS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather is expected to be fair to fine generally, but a few isolated light showers are likely at first in the far southern and eastern districts of the South Island. Conditions will be cool but becoming gradually milder. An anticyclone covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, but pressure has commenced to fall over south-eastern Australia. Moderate south-westerly to southerly winds are expected, later becoming variable and tending to northerly in and south of Cook Strait. Seas will be rather rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits, but should moderate. SHIPPING MOVEMENTS.
