CAPTAINS’ CENTURIES

TESTIMONIAL CRICKET RICHARDSON’S MERRY 107 BADCOCK BATS BRIGHTLY GRIMMETT BEST BOWLER By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10 p.m. Melbourne, Nov. 19. Dismissed for 196 runs in the first innings of the testimonial match to Woodfull and Ponsford, Richardson’s eleven in the second innings to-day did much better to total 399. Woodfull’s eleven yesterday made 316. The feature of the match so far has been the centuries of the two captains, Woodfull and Richardson. Richardson gaily hit up 107 to-day, hitting several sixes off Grimmett, but he changed his tactics when O’Reilly was put on. Nevertheless he reached the century in 123 minutes. Badcock also entered into the scoring spirit until his career was ended by a superb catch by Chipperfield, who lived up to his reputation as a brilliant fieldsman. Details are:— RICHARDSON’S ELEVEN.
