GREATER PRODUCTION
UNITED STATES CORN AND HOGS. REDUCTION OF ONLY 10 PER CENT. By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright. Rec. 10.40 p.m. Washington, Nov. 19. The Secretary of Agriculture, Mr. H. A. Wallace, announced that mid-west farmers next year would be asked to keep com acreage and hog numbers only 10 per cent, below the 1932-33 average production, assuming that normal weather will permit the production of 250,000,000 bushels of corn in excess of the estimated requirement for livestock feeding. This excess, if produced again, will be sealed under the com loan programme which will be in force next year. The present reductions are 20 to 30 per cent, in com and 25 per cent, in the numbers of hogs.
