WEATHER UNSETTLED
SOUTHERLY CHANGE EXPECTED.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.
The weather is still expected to be unsettled, states the 4 p.m. forecast; with further rain in most districts and some heavy falls in central and southern areas. Conditions will be mild, becoming colder to-morrow. A deep cyclonic depression extends from the Tasman Sea on to New Zealand, with the centre west of the South Island. Winds will be variable at first over the southern part of the South Island, but otherwise moderate to strong north-westerly winds should prevail, reaching gale force at times about Cook Strait. A general change to southerly is likely within 24 hours. Seas will be rough on the west coast and about Cook Strait and moderate elsewhere, but rising generally.
