CANADIAN APPOINTMENTS MADE.
RESIGNATION OF MR. STEVENS.

Rec. 7 p.m. Ottawa, Nov. 17. Mr. R. B- Handon, Conservative member from New Brunswick, was to-day appointed Canadian Minister of Trade and Customs, succeeding Mr. H. H. Stevens, who recently resigned. Mr. Grote Stirling, member for British. Columbia, was sworn in as Minister of National Defence, replacing the Hon. D. M. Sutherland, who becomes Minister of Health and Pensions.
