SURF SEASON OPENS
DEMONSTRATION AT EAST END. Though the weather conditions in the morning were not favourable there was a big crowd at the East End beach, New Plymouth, yesterday for the official opening of the surf club’s season. Under the charge of the club captain, Mr. N. Berge, and the coach, Mr. W. Jarvis, the club members gave an impressive march past and afterwards a demonstration of life-saving, both land and water work. Considering that the season has only just begun the standard displayed was very good, auguring well for the club’s prospects in the seasons competitions.
