CYCLIST INJURED
MAIN SOUTH ROAD ACCIDENT.
CAR AND MOTOR-CYCLE COLLIDE.
A fractured right thigh, a cut knee, abrasions of the face and minor injuries were received by a motor-cyclist, Mr. E. Beck, Tarurutangi, when a collision occurred yesterday at the intersection of Ngamotu Road and Main South Road between the cyclist and a motor-car driven by Mr. C. J. Irving, New Plymouth. After receiving attention from Dr. Gray Mr. Beck was conveyed by ambulance to the New Plymouth hospital, where last night it was reported his" condition was as satisfactory as could be expected. Mr. Beck was riding along Main South Road in the direction of the town and Mr. Irving had just turned from Ngamotu Road on to Main South Road when the collision occurred. The motorcycle came in contact with the car where the front mudguard and the running board meet. The car suffered very minor damage while the front of the cycle was extensively battered and the exhaust pipe was torn from the cylinders. Mr. Beck was thrown heavily. The occupants of the car, including children, were unhurt.
