MR. ULM’S FLIGHT
PLANE’S AIRWORTHINESS GRANTED. CROSSING OF PACIFIC OCEAN. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Nov. 12. Mr. C. T. P. Ulm’s special certificate of airworthiness was obtained just beforche sailed for Canada by the Ascania with his new Airspeed monoplane, with which he plans to fly the Pacific, including New Zealand in the stops. The certificate is for the Pacific flight only. The total permissible weight is 98001 b, enabling 580 gallons of fuel and a range of about 3600 miles. The plane must not be flown with a maximum load unless the aerodrome and other conditions are favourable. Also; the speed must not exceed 140 miles an hour.
